Matt Mathews' Not What I Ordered World Tour: All 71 Dates, and Why So Many of Them Are in Casino Ballrooms
Matt Mathews' Not What I Ordered World Tour opens Friday, September 11, 2026 at the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts in Burlington, Vermont and runs through Saturday, May 15, 2027 at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa. It is 71 confirmed dates across six countries — the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom and Ireland — and it is the first time the Birmingham, Alabama comedian has left North America with a show.
One date that was on the original itinerary is not happening. Mathews was booked for Sunday, September 13 at Erindale Park in Mississauga, Ontario, on the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival's closing-day bill alongside Hasan Minhaj and Ronny Chieng. On September 8, three days out, the festival postponed its entire September 11–13 weekend. No replacement dates have been announced.
The Mississauga Slot Was Never a Tour Date Anyway
Worth separating the two things, because ticket buyers keep conflating them. The Erindale Park booking was a festival slot — a shared bill, a shorter set, a day pass rather than a ticket to see Mathews. The festival's own statement says organizers are "exploring new dates" and that purchasers will hear from them directly. John Mulaney, who headlined the Friday, posted that he intends to play the area soon regardless.
Our listings still carry the Mississauga passes with a scheduling artifact attached to them, and they are not part of the run below. If you want to see Mathews in Canada this year, the actual tour dates are Calgary on September 25, Coquitlam on September 26, and Winnipeg on December 10.
This Is a Casino Tour, and That's the Interesting Part
Read the venue column below and a pattern shows up fast. Mulvane, Kansas. Hammond, Indiana. Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Carlton, Minnesota. Bowler, Wisconsin. Durant, Oklahoma. Uncasville, Connecticut. These are casino event centers and tribal resort ballrooms, and there are roughly a dozen of them on this itinerary — more than there are traditional big-city comedy theaters.
That is not a downgrade. It's a routing decision that says something about where Mathews' audience actually is. He built a following on farm-chore videos filmed in Alabama during the pandemic; the people who watch them do not disproportionately live within a subway ride of a downtown comedy club. Casino event centers put a 1,500-to-3,000-seat room in Bowler, Wisconsin and Lake Charles, Louisiana, which is exactly where a Southern, rural-coded, LGBTQ+ storyteller with an enormous middle-America audience can sell out on a Thursday.
The theaters and PACs are still there — the Beacon, the Palais, the Riverside, Stifel — but they read as the exception on this run rather than the spine of it. If you have been waiting for him to play a comedy club, that is not what this tour is.

Memphis gets two shows three days apart — a Thursday night on November 19 and a Sunday matinee on November 22 — with the Springfield, Missouri date wedged between them. Those are separate tickets, not an early-and-late double.

The Australian leg has moved a lot since it was announced. Brisbane was upgraded out of The Tivoli into the larger Fortitude Music Hall and picked up a second night; Sydney and Perth each added a show after the original date sold; Melbourne is showing low inventory. Some ticketing feeds — ours included — still list the Brisbane shows under The Tivoli with a relocation note attached. The room is Fortitude Music Hall.

Two naming quirks while you are searching. The tour's announcement listed the February 6 date as Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; the Xcite Center is at Parx Casino in Bensalem, which is the correct city. And there are two Melbournes on this itinerary — Melbourne, Florida on December 18 and Melbourne, Australia on January 16 — which is a genuinely funny thing to have on one tour poster and a genuinely annoying thing to search for.
Mobile Is the Date He Cares About
Mathews is from Birmingham, Alabama, and there is no Birmingham, Alabama date on this tour. There is a Birmingham, England date. The Alabama show is March 6, 2027 at Regions Arena in Mobile — he was the first act announced for the new building and the first to sell it out, which happened inside fifteen minutes of tickets going public in July. It is billed as part of the arena's grand-opening slate.
An arena is a long way from a boudoir photography studio in downtown Birmingham, which is what he was running before he started posting videos in 2020. He launched stand-up in 2022, played theaters on the When That Thang Get Ta Thang'n run in 2023 and the sold-out Boujee on a Budget tour in 2024, and signed with CAA. This is the first tour where the international leg exists at all.
Three Dates Our Listings Don't Have Yet
We check this site's data against official sources before publishing, and this time the check caught gaps on our end. Three confirmed shows were missing from our listings when this post went up, and they are bolded in the tables above:
- Saturday, November 21 at the Oaklawn Event Center in Hot Springs, Arkansas. On the original tour announcement and confirmed by Arkansas press coverage.
- Monday, January 18 and Tuesday, January 19 at The Regal Theatre in Perth, Western Australia. Live Nation Australia lists both; the Tuesday is sold out and the Monday was added after it went.
All three are real. They should appear on the Matt Mathews tour page as our feeds catch up, but if you are in Hot Springs or Perth, buy from the venue and don't wait on an aggregator to notice.

Not on this tour. His Alabama dates are Dothan on December 17, 2026 and Mobile on March 6, 2027. The Birmingham on the itinerary is Birmingham, England, on March 16, 2027.
