Stress Factory Comedy Club

Comedian Vinnie Brand opened the Stress Factory in New Brunswick in the 1990s, and it has been New Jersey's defining comedy club ever since — a comic-owned room in a state that produces and consumes stand-up at an elite level.

The booking punches far above the club's market size: major touring headliners make the Stress Factory a regular stop between New York and Philadelphia dates, drawn by Brand's reputation and crowds that show up ready. Brand himself hosts often, and his crowd work is part of the club's identity.

A second Stress Factory opened in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 2019, extending the brand up the coast, but the New Brunswick original remains the flagship and one of the best reasons in comedy to leave New York City for a show.
